Community Game Guide
Hello, everyone. Here is a short (perhaps not so short, actually 😀) guide to scoring. This is based on my understanding and is certainly not exhaustive, but I will try to be as precise as possible to help you understand how scoring works and how to achieve the highest score possible.
The scoring principle is simple. You add up the base points to which a multiplier is applied. Let's start with the multiplier. There are two factors for the multiplier. The first is the descent level. The deeper the descent, the higher the multiplier. Currently, the highest multiplier is x48, which is obtained on descent 20. Finishing the game and reaching the turtle gives you a multiplier of x1.20.
So, for the multiplier part, you have to play the deepest descent and finish the game.
Next, let's talk about base points. Base points are divided into three categories: resources, battles, and Fates Encounters.
Let's start with the resources part.
You earn points for almost every item found on the map. Every piece of gold on the map earns you points. Selling cards does not give you any extra points. Bonus gold, obtained for example by the Cursed Coin card, does not earn you any points either.
Every 100 coins you find gives you 50 points. Each card found gives you points. The cost of the card does not change the number of points earned. So take the cards that are most useful for your deck, not necessarily the most expensive ones. A purchased card does not give you more points.
Each card found gives you 25 points. Each dice found gives you 5 points. Keeping dice does not give you points at the end of the game, so use them.
Each Satchel card found gives you 50 points. Satchels sold or purchased do not give points. A Satchel card gives you the same number of points regardless of its price. So take the Satchels that go with your deck and character, not necessarily the most expensive ones. Each Lore found gives you 50 points.
Marshmallows are an exception. They do not earn you any points, but since they are tasty, pick them up anyway.
From descent 17 onwards, a bonus of 400 points per chapter is awarded to compensate for missing resources. In total, there are 7,800 base points to be earned from resources.
In short, when it comes to resources, pick up everything.
Now let's move on to the Fate Encounters section.
he principle is simple: to earn points, you generally need to have a green result.
There are a few exceptions.
The first exception is weather events, which earn the same number of points regardless of the result. A bad dice roll will just be harder for you to manage but will not affect your score.
The second exception is any event where a guardian is captured in a net and you must fight enemies to rescue them. For this category, if the guardian dies during the fight, you score 0 points. If they survive, you score points depending on whether or not the guardian joins your team.
The third exception is battles between goblins and creatures. The points earned are the same regardless of which side you choose. To earn points, at least one creature from your side must survive at the end of the battle.
We will look at the details of each exception later in this guide
There are always 6 Fate Encounters per chapter. Two of them are worth 600 points, and the other four are worth 300 points. If you cannot find all 6 encounters in your chapter, look harder, but here are a few clues: Hiring a mercenary is a Fate Encounter, but the mercenary's den is not. Rescuing a merchant's guardian is also a Fate Encounter, but simply buying the merchant is not.
There are therefore 7,200 base points to be earned in this category.
In short, roll green results, deal with the climate, and keep your allies alive to earn points.
Now let's move on to the last category: combat.
Each combat earns a certain number of points depending on its level of difficulty. This is called the score. Add a 10% bonus to this score if you do not flee from combat and another 10% bonus if you are below par. The score is determined by the difficulty level
The no-flight bonus is easy to understand: you must fight enemies as soon as you encounter them without fleeing. For example, in a level 5 battle, not fleeing will earn you 10% of 300 points, or 30 points in addition to the 300 points in the score.
The under-par bonus is obtained if you take fewer turns than par. For example, if par is 5, you must finish the battle in 4 turns or less. A turn is either your turn or the enemies' turn. It ends when you press the end turn button or when all enemies have acted and you regain control.
For example, if you play and then press end turn, then the enemy acts and you regain control and finish the battle, you have made 3 turns, even though you only played twice. Now that you understand the concept of turns, here are the turns for each combat level
In the first chapter, except for elite battles, you will always start with two level 1 battles that you will have to complete in a series of actions to get the bonus. Then you will continue with two level 2 battles, and then for the rest of your adventure, you will face level 3 or higher battles. This leaves you with a majority of 4-turn battles (two of yours and two of the enemy's) to obtain the bonus.
This 10% bonus to your score is calculated in the same way as the no-run bonus and is added to it.
To continue with our example, if you are in a level 5 battle, you do not flee, and you finish it in three turns, you get 300 + 30 + 30 = 360 points. The total base points for the combat part are 35,520 points.
In short, for this part, never flee and kill your enemies quickly.
Now we have our base points and multipliers, all that remains is to calculate everything. We add up the base points for each part. Here, 35,520 + 7,200 + 7,800 = 50,520. We multiply this by the descent multiplier and the bonus for completing the game 50,520 X 48 X 1.2 = 2,909,952.
Please also feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear. Thank you for reading to the end. TL,DR: to maximise your points, you should play Clik'Clik because he is the best character.
